A Special Day in Tunisia: Building the Future of Organic Olive Oil Together

During our recent visit to Tunisia, we had the privilege of meeting several influential individuals who are dedicated to strengthening the country’s export sector. These inspiring meetings focused on collaboration, quality, and further enhancing trade relations between Tunisia and the Netherlands.

Working Together for a Stronger Future

At the heart of this special day was our valued partner, Latifa Majdoub, producer of premium organic extra virgin olive oil. Through her years of experience, commitment to sustainability, and dedication to quality, she has made a significant contribution to the growth and success of Tunisia’s olive oil industry.

Her vision aligns perfectly with the mission of Yakelos: providing consumers with honest, pure, and award-winning organic olive oil. By working directly with producers who share these values, we can ensure quality, transparency, and sustainability from grove to table.

Discussing Export Opportunities and International Growth

We also had the opportunity to meet with Mourad Ben Hassine, Director General of CEPEX, Tunisia’s Export Promotion Center. During this valuable discussion, we explored opportunities to further strengthen the export of high-quality Tunisian products to European markets.

A shared commitment to supporting Tunisian entrepreneurs and building sustainable international partnerships was a central theme throughout the meeting. The growing demand for premium and sustainably produced food products continues to create new opportunities for Tunisian producers to expand their presence on the global stage.

In addition, we were honored to meet Samir Abid. Our conversation focused on economic development, international trade, and the growing recognition of Tunisian quality products worldwide. Particular attention was given to the opportunities for organic olive oil, a product that is gaining increasing international recognition thanks to its exceptional quality and sustainable production methods.

Yakelos: Connecting Tunisia and the Netherlands

Representing Yakelos and Biopura B.V., Farid Mhennaoui highlighted the important role Yakelos plays in connecting Tunisian producers with Dutch consumers.

By working directly with producers in Tunisia, we are able not only to guarantee the quality of our products but also to promote fair trade, full transparency, and a sustainable future for everyone involved. This direct partnership ensures that consumers enjoy authentic organic olive oil while producers receive fair value for their expertise and dedication.

The Potential of Tunisian Organic Olive Oil

These meetings once again confirmed the enormous potential of Tunisia’s olive oil sector. Tunisia benefits from a rich olive-growing tradition, a unique Mediterranean climate, and passionate producers who work every day to create a world-class product.

Through collaboration with organizations such as CEPEX, producers like Latifa Majdoub, and other key stakeholders, new opportunities continue to emerge to further promote Tunisian organic olive oil on international markets. The growing appreciation for sustainable, high-quality food products provides a promising outlook for the future.

A Day of Connection and Shared Ambition

This day was about more than business. It was a day of connection, mutual respect, and a shared ambition to create sustainable growth. The discussions and meetings highlighted the importance of cooperation between producers, organizations, and international partners.

We look back with pride on these meaningful encounters and look forward to future collaborations that will help strengthen trade relations between Tunisia and the Netherlands.

Together, we are building a future where quality, sustainability, and fair trade remain at the center of everything we do from the olive groves of Tunisia to the tables of consumers in the Netherlands.
