1. Shipping, Returns & Exchanges

When will my olive oil be shipped?

As soon as your order is paid, your package will be processed and shipped as quickly as possible. If you order on a business day before 4:00 PM, your order will generally be sent the same day with the carrier. You will always receive a confirmation email with a tracking link to follow your shipment.

How long does delivery take?

Within the Netherlands and Belgium, you can usually expect delivery within 1–3 business days. Around holidays and sales events, delivery services may be busier, which could result in your package taking an extra day to arrive.

What are the shipping costs?

Shipping costs are automatically calculated during checkout. Orders above a certain amount qualify for free shipping; currently, this is from approximately €49, but the exact amount is always clearly stated at the top of the website and in your shopping cart.

Will I receive a tracking code?

Yes. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking code so you can see exactly where your package is and when it will be delivered.

Can I return or exchange my order?

You can return unopened and undamaged products within the statutory reflection period. Always register your return with our customer service first and follow the instructions in our return policy on the website. The terms and steps can be found under “Return Policy” in the footer.

My order arrived damaged, what should I do?

Of course, this is not what we want. Take photos of the packaging and the damage immediately, and contact us. Together, we will find an appropriate solution, such as a replacement product or a refund.

2. Subscription Olive Oil

How can I start my olive oil subscription?

You can start your subscription by placing your first order via the subscription page or the subscription product. During the checkout process, you choose:

  • How many bottles you want to receive per delivery
  • How often you want to receive a delivery (for example, monthly or quarterly)

After that, everything runs automatically, and you’ll always have olive oil at home.

How can I change or cancel my subscription?

You can easily manage your subscription yourself via the online customer portal:

  1. Go to the link you received when you started your subscription.
  2. Log in with the email address used for the subscription.
  3. Adjust the quantity, delivery frequency, or pause/stop your subscription via your personal dashboard.

If you encounter any issues or have questions, our support team is happy to help.

Am I locked into my subscription and how long does it last?

No, you’re not committed long-term. You can pause, adjust, or cancel your subscription at any time, as long as you do so before the next billing/shipping date. This way, you stay fully in control.

Can I skip a delivery?

Yes, in most cases you can skip an upcoming delivery or reschedule it via your customer portal. This is ideal if you still have enough stock at home.

How do I pay for my subscription?

Payments are processed automatically via the payment method you chose when subscribing (e.g., iDEAL, credit card, or another local method). Just before each new delivery, the amount will be automatically charged.

Where does your olive oil come from?

Our organic olive oil comes from Tunisia, one of the largest olive oil producing countries in the world. The olive trees grow in a warm and dry Mediterranean climate, which contributes to the oil’s smooth taste and high quality.

What makes Tunisian olive oil special?

Tunisian olive oil is known for its approachable, fruity flavor with a subtle herbal note. Thanks to traditional cultivation and pressing methods, and native varieties such as Chemlali and Chetoui, the oil has a unique, balanced character that works well both cold and cooked.

Is your olive oil certified organic?

Yes. Yakelos olive oil is 100% organic and meets strict European standards. No synthetic pesticides or artificial additives are used, and sustainability is central from grove to bottle.

What does Yakelos olive oil taste like?

Yakelos extra virgin olive oil is smooth and creamy, with fruity and lightly nutty notes. Many customers notice a subtle peppery aftertaste, a sign that the oil is rich in polyphenols and antioxidants.

Is olive oil healthy?

What exactly is extra virgin olive oil?

Extra virgin olive oil is the highest quality category: pressed without chemical refinement, with very low acidity and a pure, fruity flavor profile. All Yakelos oils fall into this category.

What is the difference between regular olive oil and extra virgin olive oil?

“Regular” olive oil is often a blend of refined oil with a small portion of extra virgin. Extra virgin olive oil, by contrast, is completely unrefined and cold-pressed, retaining far more flavor and natural nutrients.

What can I use olive oil for?

Our olive oil is versatile and suitable for:

  • Marinades for meat, fish, and vegetables

  • Cooking, baking, and light frying (as long as the pan isn’t smoking heavily)

Which olive oil is best for salads?

For salads, it’s best to use a fruity, mild extra virgin olive oil, exactly like Yakelos. This allows the oil to shine as a “finishing touch” over cold dishes.

4. Storage & Shelf Life

How should I store olive oil?

Store the bottle in a cool, dark place, such as a kitchen cupboard, away from direct sunlight and heat sources like the stove. Always close the bottle tightly after use to minimize exposure to air.

How long does olive oil stay fresh?

Our organic olive oil is generally good for 18–24 months when unopened. The best-before date is printed on the packaging. After opening, we recommend using the oil within 6–12 months for optimal flavor and quality.

My oil is cloudy or has small particles in it—is that normal?

Yes, this mainly occurs at lower temperatures. Olive oil can partially solidify, causing cloudiness or small white flakes. This does not indicate a quality problem. Simply bring the bottle to room temperature and the oil will clear up naturally.

The flavor of my new bottle tastes slightly different, why is that?

Olive oil is a natural product. Factors such as harvest year, climate, and exact harvest timing can slightly affect the flavor. We maintain strict quality control, but small variations between batches are normal.

5. Delivery & Payment

How do I place an order with Yakelos?

Choose the desired product in the webshop (for example, a single bottle, 3-liter tin, or gift set), add it to your shopping cart, and follow the steps at checkout. Once your payment is completed, you will immediately receive an order confirmation by email.

Which payment methods can I use?

At Yakelos, you can pay using various secure payment methods, such as iDEAL, credit card (Visa, Mastercard), PayPal, and other options like Apple Pay, Shop Pay, and Maestro. The available methods are always shown at checkout.

Will I receive an invoice for my order?

Do I need an account to place an order?

Can I order the trial box more than once?

The trial box is primarily intended as an introduction. Whether and how often you can order it is stated on the product page. For regular use, a larger bottle or tin is more economical.

Do you regularly have promotions or bundle deals?
