TikTok does challenges and a video was posted on the platform in which a simple cucumber dish was presented. No one knows why, but it became a worldwide hit and the cucumbers flew off the shelves. Here and there there was even a shortage of cucumbers.

Cucumbers are not only tasty, but also incredibly healthy. They contain few calories and a lot of water. In addition, the cucumber salad has a crunchy, fresh texture. So, if you are looking for a healthy and tasty addition to your diet, a cucumber salad is ideal.

Ingredients:
- Two medium cucumbers, thinly sliced
- One red onion, thinly sliced
- Two tablespoons rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- Two tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- One teaspoon sesame oil
- One tablespoon honey
- One teaspoon soy sauce
- Pinch of chili flakes (optional, for a bit of a kick)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Handful of fresh coriander or parsley, finely chopped
- Optional: sesame seeds for an extra crunch

Directions:
- Wash the cucumbers well and slice them thinly. Use a mandoline or a sharp knife to make the slices as thin as possible.
- Place the cucumber slices in a large bowl and add the sliced red onion.
- Mix the rice vinegar, olive oil, sesame oil, honey, and soy sauce together in a small bowl. Stir well until everything is well combined.
- Pour the dressing over the cucumber and red onion. Add the chili flakes, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Mix everything well and let the salad sit in the fridge for at least 10 minutes so that the flavors can develop.
- Just before serving, garnish the salad with finely chopped coriander or parsley and, if desired, some sesame seeds.
